Review of Notho conservation
Nagy, B. & B. R. Watters, 2021. A review of the conservation status of seasonal Nothobranchius fishes (Teleostei: Cyprinodontiformes), a genus with a high level of threat, inhabiting ephemeral wetland habitats in Africa. Aquatic Conservation: Marine and Freshwater Ecosystems, 1–18.
Our most recent paper presents a comprehensive appraisal of the distribution, ecology, and conservation status for the members of the seasonal killifish genus Nothobranchius. Fieldwork based fine-scale habitat type classification and insights into ecological factors allow identifying the key points in the specially adapted life history of these fishes, in order to develop appropriate conservation strategy.
