Collecting Nothobranchius in "The Pearl of Africa"
I arrived in Entebbe from Rwanda after a very fascinating gorilla tracking experience. I only had a few days for collecting in Uganda. Nevertheless, I tried to cover a few objectives of research in that country. The main purposes of this part of the trip were three-fold. Firstly, I wanted to check the northern part of Uganda, which was inaccessible for a long time because of severe political troubles; secondly, to investigate the area where Tait collected a taeniopygus-like Nothobranchius alongside the Soroti - Moroto road; and finally, to bring back a few new populations of Nothobranchius robustus and N. ugandensis to the hobby.
